Duncan C. Pike, MSc(Kin)
Duncan is president of Sport Performance Specialists, and Head Instructor of the SPS Power Skating division. He completed an undergraduate degree in physical education and liberal studies from Vancouver Island University in 2004, where he specialised in applied biomechanics and video analysis of hockey skating skills. While at V.I.U., Duncan took extra coaching courses to qualify for a two-year diploma in physical education. In 2008 he graduated from Lakehead University’s master’s program in kinesiology with a thesis in visual feedback, specifically examining the effectiveness of Dartfish software. For his thesis, he wrote the very first theoretical support and explanation of the effectiveness of visual feedback and its impact on motor skill acquisition.
